A delicious apple pear cake, sweetened with honey instead of sugar. Less guilty but still super tasty, comforting and satisfying!
Woohoo, all people with a sweet tooth unite! Dessert is my favourite part of the meal, and I will never turn down a piece of pie or cake 😉 Who’s with me? Today I share one of my baking experiments, namely an apple pear cake!
A super simple Chai sugar syrup made with spices, water and sugar. Can be used to flavour cake, pie, oatmeal, pancakes, ice cream, drinks and so much more!
If there’s anything Chai spices remind me of, it’s the weather getting colder. When I drink a cup of Chai tea (Chai latte!) I find myself dreaming of leaves turning bright yellow, orange, brown or red. My mind wanders off to the last time we had snow here in the Netherlands, and I get the sudden urge to light some candles and snuggle up with a blanket 😉 Because I don’t always have time to brew some Chai tea from scratch, I’ve decided to make a batch of Chai sugar syrup.
Matcha powder and vanilla extract give the perfect flavour to these bite sized swirl cookies. And they’re so much fun! | Stay Alive and Cooking
I received a package from Mr & Mrs Tea, which contained one of the best tea products there is: matcha powder. This bright green powder can be used to make tea and matcha latte, but can also be used in various baked goods and desserts. I wanted to bring out that beautiful green, which is how I came up with the idea for these swirl cookies!
Rosemary and garlic focaccia: delicious home baked bread! It’s easy, customizable, and extremely tasty. | Stay Alive and Cooking
Being a foodie, one of my goals is to learn how to bake breads at home. From scratch! This can be rather tricky, which is why I’ve started with the easier varieties. Such as this delicious focaccia bread! It wasn’t at all as hard as I thought, and the smell that will fill your house is worth the 3 hour wait. Plus: freshly baked bread will beat store bought any day of the week!
Granola is one of my favourite ways to start the day, and this version with peanut butter and quinoa makes breakfast even better! | Stay Alive and Cooking
Yes yes yes, I’ve said this a million times: I love breakfast. I bake some fresh granola almost every week, as it’s my boyfriends favourite breakfast with some yoghurt! His second favourite breakfast is bread with peanut butter, which inspired me to play around with the flavours and create this yummy granola variety.
These delicious lemon poppyseed muffins are the perfect sweet-tooth snacks. They’re zingy and fresh!
I’m all about the sweet stuff. Desserts, cookies, cakes, breakfast: I love anything with sugar baby! Add some lemon and poppyseeds to that and you’ve got, in my opinion, one of the best muffins ever. Don’t you agree? 😉
It’s time for another great breakfast recipe! This time I experimented with a breakfast pie: a delicious oat crust topped with some yoghurt and fresh pear or any fruit of choice. It’s really really good: I love the combination of the crunchy crust with the smooth yoghurt and sweet fruit! The perfect variation to my regular oatmeal 😉
This flatbread recipe is something everyone should learn, because it’s so simple, easy and quick and you can use flatbreads for whatever dish you like. Use it to accompany soups, salads, stews, curries, dips, herb butters and sooo much more! And they only need 10 minutes work and 20 minutes resting time.
When I was younger I made the same cookies almost every month. They were simple sugar cookies and I loved them so much I’d never even thought of changing the recipe. Now, years later, I rarely cook or bake the same thing twice. This is why I decided to recreate those sugar cookies, but add a twist of my own: maple syrup pecan cookies were born!
Ohh hello beautiful cookies. Don’t they look pretty? I love cookies filled with sugar, chocolate and butter but those “less guilty” cookies are such a nice variety too. Because there’s no added sugar it simply means you can eat twice as many, am I right?
These simple yet delicious oatmeal cookies contain peanuts, honey and vanilla to make one of my favourite flavour combinations. And to make it even better they are drizzled with some peanut butter & chia seeds for that finishing touch!
