This delicious apple oatmeal breakfast crumble with cinnamon is the perfect way to start your day. It’s super simple too!
Okay, admit it: the best part of celebrating your birthday is having pie for breakfast. Well do I have some good news for you: there’s a way to have guilt-free pie like breakfasts as often as you please!
That’s right, I’m going to share with you today one of my favourite ways to start the day if I have a little more time on my hands. It’s also great as a dessert: even better if you add some vanilla or cinnamon ice cream! Continue reading….
You’ll love the flavour combinations of this dinner bake! The quinoa, cauliflower and sausages are baked in tomato sauce and topped with a generous amount of mozzarella. You’ll want seconds…
I love food, I love writing and I love lists. What’s not to love about the 25 food questions tag? Accompanied with random food photos. Yes. I made sure that all the pictures are clickable so they will redirect you to the recipe or post that belongs to the photo, how cool is that?!
By the way, if there for any reason are questions you’d like to ask me feel free to do so! You can fill out a contact form or simply send me a message on Facebook or Instagram.
This weekend has been a little hectic because we celebrated my boyfriends birthday, so we didn’t cook at all on Saturday. We were so lazy we just ate the leftover crackers and cheeses! Tomorrow I’ll be back with a great budget proof recipe.
Hi there! Today I decided to share with you a delicious meaty dish that is easy enough for a student to cook, makes a big portion for a relatively low amount of money and doesn’t take a lot of work; just waiting time. Also: I’ve implemented my new recipe template! Yay! Tell me what you think… 🙂
I remember when I was younger I would hear people talk about “pulled meats” in disgust. However, when I tried my moms variety of beef stew with loads of butter and this smooth meat I fell in love instantly. Because you need to be at home for around 4 hours at least, we didn’t eat it often enough in my opinion. Now that I live on my own I like to cook this beautiful beef stew when I’m spending a day inside studying or whatever. The smell that fills my house right now is mouthwatering!
Hey all! New week, new recipe inspirations 😉 Today I share a great recipe for a mushroom quiche, which came from a little gambling and trying stuff out. And it worked!
I know from experience that quiches can be great for dinner or lunch if you get the balance right. All you need is some puff pastry (or dough), eggs, sour cream and vegetables. Easy, right?! I’ll be showing you my version along with some improvement points. For the recipe, scroll down!
After all that cake and fries in my birthday weekend I decided it was time for something a little healthier for Monday’s dinner. A salad is always a good idea, and I found some tasty but rather healthy ingredients to go with it, creating a turkey-avocado-lettuce-feta quinoa salad!
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s currently 4 degrees out here in Breda (the Netherlands) and I’m sitting outside, on my balcony, with a blanket and my laptop. The sun is shining so bright that it’s not cold at all! I absolutely love blogging this way, and I can’t wait for spring… Who’s with me!
Good morning, I think it’s time for another life update 😉
First of all: today is not my birthday. It was actually on 12/02, but I didn’t get to write about it until now! Even though I was alone on the day itself I had a really great birthday: we went out for dinner at an awesome wine bar (review will follow soon) and celebrated my birthday for family on Saturday in our apartment. My lovely friends came over on Sunday for some wine and cheese, too! Overall a great birthday weekend if you ask me.
The day started as it usually would: I went to the gym for a short morning work-out, and started planning my day after that. I had to finish one soup, prepare another, and bake two cakes! I prepared roasted tomato soup, a typical Dutch pea soup, a chocolate/vanilla cake and this lovely carrot cake. Took me nearly all day but the results were really nice 🙂
While learning how to cook, I like to experiment with different cuisines every now and then. It started with Italian food: I love a good pasta or lasagne! This Christmas I received a tagine as gift and I could not have been happier! I have been experimenting a bit, and decided to share my last creation with you.
Cooking with a tagine is actually really easy. You need some meat, vegetables combined with many herbs, and some liquid like bouillon. The shape of the tagine ensures all the flavours are combined and kept within the bowl. As a result, you have stew-like substance that is extremely tasty, and contains very juicy meat!
Last weekend has been so busy: we had the activities in Amsterdam (read about them here and here) and on Saturday it was time to work on our apartment. I’ve been living here for almost a year now, but some things still could use some attention and now that the boyfriend is living here too it’s time to do something about it. My parents came over (and brought the puppy, yay!) and the first part of our day was spent in Ikea. Because of the rain it was extreeeemely busy, but we managed to get everything we needed. We finally have a couch that is big enough for both of us to lay down on, and I absolutely love it! Also, the pictures/paintings are finally on the wall, and I have new shelves in my kitchen. I’m very happy!
Good morning food lovers!
Today I’ve got a great recipe to share with you, which turned out to be even better than expected. It was a perfect combination of flavours and we absolutely loved it! I found a recipe
online which I used for inspiration, but my friend Noor joined us last moment so we decided to add some minced meat as well. Also, I’ve got some fresh rosemary which I decided to add to the pumpkin as a nice touch. These kind of “experiments” are what makes me love cooking in the first place: who knows what great dishes result from a little inspiration! Feel free to make your own adjustments and let me know in the comments below, would love to hear from you.
The roasted pumpkin is smooth and sweet, which tastes great with the fresh vegetables and the salty minced meat. Since it was the first time cooking this (I never roasted pumpkin before!) it was a bit of a gamble but I would really recommend trying it, I’m definitely cooking this again! Bulgur
is an ingredient I like to use as it can be combined with nearly any dish.
