I don’t know about you guys but I’m a huge fan of breakfast. And hello, what’s better than pancakes! This time we actually ate these as dinner but who cares. All day breakfast is a thing, right?
Pancakes is one of the most versatile breakfast dishes I know. You can make plain pancakes, sweet pancakes, savoury pancakes, sweet and savoury together… I’ll include our recipe down below together with some great variations.
It’s a dreadful and rainy day today, which can only mean one thing: baking day! I felt like trying something new but was not entirely sure what, so I started thinking until I had some ideas. I decided to try all four ideas at once, and create four different cakes with only one base batter.
I’m at my parents’ place in the middle of nowhere so I can’t run to the store to get supplies if we don’t have what I need. Okay, to be fair it’s only 15 minutes by bike but that’s way too far when it’s raining! So I had to work with what we had. I found apples and cinnamon, instant coffee, dark chocolate and oranges, pecans and honey. Not too bad.
Today I share with you a recipe to one of my favourite things in the whole wide world: carrot cake. When it’s baked properly you’ll have the perfect combination of sweet cake with spices, topped with a delicious lemon cream cheese topping. Yummm!
Last Saturday I celebrated my birthday for family in our apartment in Breda. I baked this cake as well as a simple chocolate/vanilla cake, and asked my mum to bring an apple pie. The carrot cake was so popular, and I received so many compliments! Make this cake the star of your birthday too, with this great recipe.
It’s time for a baking recipe, and I’ve got a good one to share with you today. These oatmeal cookies are a little sticky but have a nice bite to them, and a great taste too: honey and a variation of nuts. Oatmeal is quite healthy, tasty and it leaves you satisfied for a long time. That’s why I like to use it so much! (See: apple crumble oatmeal pie for breakfast and homemade granola for example) Last week I tried a recipe of +Chickslovefood for easy oatmeal cookies. Because I used honey as sweetener and coconut oil to stick them together it’s not that unhealthy, either. What’s not to love…
I’ll be sharing more baking recipes with you, too: Gijs (the boyfriend) just started with his placement and I thought I’d give him some healthy snacks for in the train, like this cookie. Also, its my birthday next week!
