Foodies like us, we love going to food (truck) festivals. The wide variety of food available, the often funny and creative names, slogans and appearance of the trucks selling the food and the overall ambiance at these festivals: count me in! Unfortunately, at a certain point my stomach is full and my wallet is empty… I wish I could try everything, but I simply can’t.
So, from now on I’m going to dedicate blogposts to the food festivals I visit. I’ll share all the inspiring things and recipe ideas with you guys, and you can decide what you do with them!
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed that I have visited some nice food festivals over the duration of summer. (So sad the season is over now! Maybe winter food festivals is going to be a thing?) Here’s a quick overview: (scroll down for the pictures from Tilburg!)
Don’t know if this counts, it wasn’t a food festival but a food blogger convention with loads of food 😉

Smaak Karavaan in Tilburg
Sooo on Saturday the 17th of September we visited “Smaak Karavaan” (which translates as “taste caravan”) behind the train station of Tilburg. Over 40 different trucks selling food, from a “haute couture” snackbar to freshly pressed juices: they had a wide variety!
The boyfriend and I shared quite some nice things, in order: a hot dog with sauerkraut and some sort of sweet sauce, sticky lemon chicken wings, a beef sandwich with soft goats cheese & veggies (me) and a butter chicken curry (him), and most importantly: red velvet cake and white chocolate cheesecake. Yumm! Photos down below.
Okay, so not only am I for sure going to try and make those lemon/ketjap chicken wings and that deeeelicious white chocolate cheesecake, I also saw some dishes that I would love to recreate some time but didn’t get a chance to taste. I’ll translate the ones that are not in English.
And to finish this post: some of my favourite food trucks.
Hope you enjoyed this post, I definitely looove going to food festivals for some inspiration… And I thought I’d share some! How about you? How do you get inspired?
See you soon! X Vivian
