It’s time for a challenge!

As you all know, I am a student, and as you’ve probably already found out I am in love with food. Being a student means you’ve got limited budget and have to find creative ways to spend this, but I’m not particularly good at this. I spend so much money on food! This doesn’t have to be a bad thing, I mean hey many people spend a lot on their hobbies too.. haha! But I’d like to see if I can cook budget proof recipes for an entire month.

One of the things I thought of to improve my website is taking on some challenges. I’ve posted a poll asking what challenges you’d like me to try (find it here) for upcoming months/weeks/whatever. Cooking budget proof but tasty recipes will be my first challenge for March!

To be honest I don’t know yet how much I’d like to spend per meal: perhaps less than 2 euros? But I’ll include the price per person per dish, so we’ll be able to see how well I’m doing 🙂 I’ll set a “price goal” after I’ve done my grocery shopping for this week.

I’ve got a lot of inspiration: from soups to vegetable dishes, rice, noodles, potatoes… So I’m sure there will be some great recipes the upcoming weeks! Even if there’s not really a recipe I’ll share a quick story on what we ate and how much it cost 🙂

Sounds like a good challenge, no? If you have any recipes or tips feel free to let me know!

  1. This is a great idea, Vivian! I spend A LOT of money on food too, and I also see it as justifiable because it’s my passion. Instead of spending money on shoes and handbags, I put the cash toward a well-stocked pantry!! 😉 It’s also great to be mindful of spending, though, especially with your school expenses. Best of luck with your goal…I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes!

    1. Thank you! I know right, while others buy a new handbag I get really excited from buying a baking tray or food in general. Funny to see we are the same! I’m hoping to find and share some great recipes this month, so if you have any suggestions…
      See you!
