My kitchen wishlist: a list filled with beautiful props, cool gadgets and have to have kitchen appliances! Take a peek into my dream kitchen.

There are so many items I have on my kitchen wishlist, I don’t even know where to start! I can’t wait for the day I have a beautiful, spacious kitchen for all these items. An unlimited budget might help too… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Birthday week

Yes, it’s still my birthday week so I’m going to list all the things I’d like to have in my kitchen one day! And no, I don’t expect them for my birthday, haha! I’ve actually asked for no presents: I’m saving for a bigger cause (more soon!) and my kitchen is wayyyy too full anyway. But hey, a girl can dream right? I’m already thinking about my future kitchen, which is such a fun thing to do…

A gray-tone marble island and matching countertops is the ideal serene complement to not-quite-white cabinetry and light wooden flooring.

I for example really want a kitchen island! An open kitchen, so that even when I’m spending the day behind the stoves all day I can still be social. Oh, and I want one of those huge ovens and a proper furnace…. Anyone else?! The bf and I are currently renting an apartment so we have one of those very standard ones, which works fine, but I get jealous every time I see pretty kitchen pictures of my favourite bloggers.

Shopping

You know, I’m not that much of a fan of shopping for clothes. Walking in and out of stores, picking up items that you like, trying on the item and then finding out it doesn’t fit/doesn’t suit you/looks weird… Shopping for kitchen items, however, is a completely different deal!

I can spend hours browsing the racks of kitchen tools, pretty linen and towels, pans, pots, silverware, plates and bowls… And I never get bored of it! If I would win the lottery I’d know the first thing I would do… Haha!

But hey, I’m not a millionaire and my kitchen is way to small for all those appliances and pretty items, so I’m just going to make a wishlist out of it instead. Dream with me, will you?

It’ll be a combination of ‘foodblog props’ and kitchen items.

Props and items

Spring Tea, Photography and Art Direction by Vanessa Rees, food styling by Lauren LaPenna, Prop styling by Kelly Shea.:

Yes, I already have two of those ‘tea eggs’ but still. This looks so cool! If I ever make a recipe with tea in it, I’d definitely need one of those ๐Ÿ˜‰ Beautiful photo by Vanessa Rees.

Star Anise | Passionate About Baking:

Unfortunately I can’t find whose photo this is (I even did a reverse-search of this photo, Catfish taught me so much!) but I love the styling. I’m all about pretty spoons and would usually go for a wooden spoon in a photo (I have yet to find the perfect one, my favourite is now yellow because of turmeric…) but this totally works for me.

Bostocks are French pastries made of brioche slices soaked in orange syrup, slathered in almond cream, and baked until the edges are crispy and caramelized but the center custardy. Think of them as children from a marriage between almond croissants and French toasts.:

Still in the same category: I’ve never used a tiny sieve, but I had to have one for photo opportunities! I found one at Dille&Kamille, which is my favourite shop ๐Ÿ˜‰ Unfortunately it’s not as pretty, so I’m leaving this item on my wishlist for now. Photo and recipe by Beyond Sweet and Savory.

Finding Props for Food Photography with Naomi Robinson | Summer Food Photography Series Part One | Gourmande in the Kitchen:

Any other person would choose a new baking sheet over an old one, but then there’s us foodbloggers. I think these look perfect for pictures! Photo and article by Gourmande in the kitchen.

linda lundgren - Tools of the Baking Trade:

Unfortunately can’t find whose photo this is either, if you know please contact me so I can give proper credits! I have a dozen cake tins & pie shapes, but I rarely use them… Yet I want many more! How cute are the little ones?

HEMA:

This is simply a spoon from our local Hema shop, which I absolutely love…. But whenever I check, it’s not in stock! One day I’ll buy this wooden spoon, and it’ll look really cool on photos. Oh, and it’s also very handy to use for cooking of course ๐Ÿ˜‰

These diamond glasses will prevent your guests from knocking over their drinks.:

I’ve been obsessed with tumblers and glasses like these, but I have yet to find the perfect ones. They are always so expensive!

Waterford Lismore Crystal Whiskey tumblers Set of 4 Now $ 200.00:

How about these, any thoughts? Maybe I should check a vintage shop!

The Pioneer Woman Cowboy Rustic 12" Salad Bowl and 12" Handle Servers:

This one’s just too pretty. Reminds me of the wooden salad bowl my grandparents had when I was younger ๐Ÿ™‚

Enhance the flavor and the experience of drinking wine with the L'Grand Conundrum Wine Decanter and Aerator.:

Not only is allowing your wine to ‘breathe’ before serving enhancing the flavours, it looks so classy pouring from one of those!

For my kitchen

Pans, pans pans! And some other items I’m sure I can’t live without.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor skillet pan

In the Netherlands, skillets aren’t that popular. (WHAAAAT?) So every time I see a recipe for a huge skillet cookie or Dutch baby pancakes, I get so jealous! I wanna have one of those! As soon as I have more closet space, I’ll get a good one.

le creusetยฎ skinny grill. I need one. The grill pan I bought was horrible. - http://AmericasMall.com/:

I’m scared to admit this, but I. don’t. own. a. grill. yet. And these colourful ones from le creuset are just too pretty! And easy to store.

Le Creuset Signature Cast-Iron Round Dutch Oven #williamssonoma:

Yes, more le creuset. I have a cast iron pan but it’s starting to get old, and I like to think that one day I’ll invest in a really good one.

This KitchenAid Artisan Mixer is in the ever popular color, Silver Metallic, that will look great on any counter top. The KitchenAid Artisan Mixer has a 325W motor, 5qt bowl, pouring shield and a tilt-back mixer $249.99:

Do I even have to explain?! I think a Kitchenaid is the dream of every foodie. I already own a Magimix foodprocessor, which pretty much has it all, but I keep thinking that I’ll get better at baking once I own one of those. Ha. On the kitchen wishlist it goes!

Let your Nespresso espresso machine do the hard work for you when it comes to creating this drink recipe masterpiece. Iced Coconut Caramel Mocha is sure to be a favorite of yours this summer.:

This is actually a picture from a recipe by Country Cleaver, but I simply love this photo! Once I have my dream kitchen, a great coffee machine can’t be missing of course. I’ll have to see which one I choose then, and how much space I have left for appliances like this one…. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Kitchen wishlist

Okay, you know what: I’m going to leave it at this. I’ve already listed so many items! There’s a dozen more (can’t have a kitchen wishlist without good knives!) but I’ll discuss them later. Maybe in my next birthday week ๐Ÿ˜‰

See you soon! Btw: my birthday actually isn’t until this Sunday, haha!

  1. I absolutely love to cook, so the kitchen is my favorite room in the house. We currently rent, so I do look forward to the day I can create my dream kitchen. Love your list, thanks for sharing!
